Kim & Carlos' Reception - 8.15.09 - Frederick, MD

Once the hard part is over...it's time to celebrate! Kim & Carlos have so much spunk...and with their family and friends around, it totally livened up the day. The event was filled with a little bit of crying, a lot of laughter and some break dancing in between.

Carlos is Brazilian and Brazilian tradition has guests contributing money to the newly wedded couple in exchange for a piece cut from an extra tie.

Ashley & Don's Reception - 8.9.09 - Big Indian, NY

The reception was also held about 50 yards away from the wedding ceremony site. It was housed underneath a fully closed white tent just in case the rain came back. The tent was gigantic and kept the loved ones dry and ready for some fun times. Relatives from near and far came to reunite with one another and share their love for Ashley and Don. Now it's time for some dancing, dancing and more dancing!

Marcela & Michael's Reception - 7.11.09 - Arlington, VA

A classic place to end the night, the reception was held at the Ritz Carlton. Family and friends from the ceremony also attended the reception - the place was packed. Everyone looked like they were having a great time!

Lisa & Stephen Reception - 6.26.09 - Wilmington, DE

The reception was held at the Cauffiel Barn where an amazing transformation took place that changed the barn to a beautiful wedding reception. Fun decorations and additions added a touch of Lisa and Stephen as a fun couple. I personally love the Word Search.

Rehana & Hamza's Shaadi Reception - 6.19.09 - Chantilly, VA

The entrance of the bride and groom are very key to a reception. First the groom arrives with his family. He then sits at the head of the room and waits for his bride to enter. The bride enters with her family and joins her groom at the head of the stage as well.

A few ceremonial procedures are performed with and for the bride and groom by both sides of the family. I personally liked the event where the bride and groom are told to look at a mirror so that they can see each other as they are - two people in love.

Western traditions are also combined with the tradition as you can see from the cake cutting. Their cake looked and tasted divine.
