Ashley & Don's Ceremony - 8.9.09 - Big Indian, NY

Although the day started out with rain, the wedding of Ashley and Don actually ended with wonderful weather. This day is sort of like a metaphor for life: regardless of the life's hardships, things will be ok in the end. (Insert cheesy rain saying here)

Here are some photos taken inside the main building right before the ceremony. The photo with Ashley looking out the window was a quick impromptu right before the family photos. I just love the expression - happiness on her wedding day.

Because of rain, the ceremony was held underneath a big tent - but it was open so it was still an outdoor wedding. Regardless of the tent, the rain stopped just as soon as the bridal party had their procession. Ashley looked stunning with her father right beside her.

I like this photo for two reasons 1) the ringbearer is concentrating more on me than his walk 2) you can see ashley and her father in the background getting ready for their own walk!

As the ceremony continues, you can tell that Ashley and Don are certainly happy to be marrying each other. They proceed with some wonderful components to their ceremony to help illustrate becoming one. The program included Ashley and Don's mothers reciting a poem together and a sand unity ceremony. The other, more customary portion of the wedding was the log-sawing. The sawing of the log by the bride and groom symbolizes how hard work and working together can achieve many more things in life. I don't think that that's going to be problem for them at all.

Finally, the moment that everyone has been waiting for - the exchanging of the rings and that smooch. Congratulations Ashley & Don!
